  • This leading European toll road operator, under pressure to drive growth, wanted to diversify their offering by gaining better penetration in the car fleet market. Their efforts had been hampered by reliance on technical solution applied on cars. Many opportunities to expand offerings and to fulfill the needs of B2B clients had previously been overlooked, which left them with a limited market position in this segment.
  • The task was ultimately to transform the company‚Äôs business model and allow the company to become a recognized provider of payment services for travelers.

  • A series of innovation workshops and customer connection activities to assess market trends, identify customer needs and design a new portfolio of services targeted towards B2B customers.

Outcomes and value created

  • Working side-by-side with our client, we helped implement a fit-for-purpose business model that generated a 2.5 times EBIT increase and enabled the spin-off of a separate payment service, creating a new revenue stream and stronger market position.
  • Co-designed a new IT platform to provide the requested services and enable the transition of 8 million customers to digital interaction with the company.
  • Helped implement the underlying operating model, which was successfully launching the different services in the market after a successful pilot.
